The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency Program at Texas Health Resources is designed for recent graduates of accredited vocational nursing programs. This unique opportunity allows new LVNs to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, starting with the next cohort on February 24, 2025. The program is integrated into the hospital's education structure and includes a guided clinical experience, an instructor-led core curriculum, and a formal mentoring program. Residents will participate in informative debriefing and self-care sessions, along with supportive 360-degree evaluations to enhance their learning experience. During the residency, participants will work on their selected home units while also rotating through other departments to broaden their nursing experience. This comprehensive, evidence-based onboarding program spans 15 months and requires a commitment to employment, providing new graduate nurses with the skills, judgment, and confidence necessary to navigate the complexities of hospital life effectively. The work environment is located at Texas Health Arlington, specifically in Med Surg Station 21, which consists of a 10-bed unit averaging 10 patients. The culture is team-based, emphasizing collaboration and support among staff. The hospital has a rich history of serving the local communities and is recognized for its comprehensive medical and surgical care, as well as its specialized services in cancer care, women's health, and emergency medicine. Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is a designated Magnet hospital, reflecting its commitment to excellence in nursing and patient care.
