About the position
The LX Maintenance Tech 1 position at Michael Foods, Inc. involves performing process and production maintenance throughout the facility. The role is crucial for ensuring equipment reliability, compliance with safety and food quality standards, and supporting production needs efficiently. The technician will engage in various maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, installations, and adherence to safety protocols, contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform process and production maintenance throughout the facility.
- Respond efficiently to urgent production needs related to equipment.
- Read and understand diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications to disassemble, repair, replace, rebuild, and install mechanical equipment.
- Utilize CMMS to support the maintenance function, including review, execution, and documentation of scheduled/unscheduled work.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical power transmission equipment.
- Maintain sanitary conditions and ensure product quality is upheld.
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
- 1+ years' experience in industrial operations, plant operations, maintenance, utilities, or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior training and education in OSHA 10 Hour, HAZMAT, Arc Flash, LOTO, electrical systems, and fall protection.
- Prior food manufacturing experience.
