About the position

The Certified Lymphedema Therapist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering treatment techniques for patients as prescribed by physicians. This part-time position focuses on providing high-quality patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive treatment and support for patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, and administers appropriate treatment techniques as prescribed by a physician.
• Administers patient treatments in a professional manner and within hospital standards.
• Completes timely and thorough documentation of patient care.
• Works collaboratively with physicians and various therapy professionals.
• Maintains a professional team relationship with co-workers and supports their growth.
• Communicates effectively and addresses issues privately.
• Respects each discipline's expertise and maintains patient privacy.
• Educates patients and families on self-care and prevention strategies.
• Completes evaluation, progress, and discharge notes in a timely manner.
• Participates in department meetings and inservices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Kansas License as an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist.
• Certified Lymphedema Therapist (highly preferred).
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a clinical setting (not required).
