As an M/W Repairman, you will ensure compliance with all railroad, safety, operations, and federal railroad administration rules and regulations. You will troubleshoot and perform heavy repairs to all types of equipment components including engines, transmissions, gear boxes, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, working components, conveyors, booms, buckets, and electrical systems. This role requires solving work-related problems, making decisions, providing instructions, and driving heavy-duty service trucks, often pulling a trailer. A strong understanding of mechanical operations of machinery is essential. The position also requires experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including the ability to read schematics. Candidates must pass a Skilled-Craft written exam as well as a hands-on hydraulics test to be considered for an interview. A valid driver's license is required on the date of hire, and a CDL License is preferred. You must be able to read and speak English as this position requires following government regulations. Some welding experience is preferred, along with the ability to lift 50 to 80 pounds frequently and comprehend and comply with instructions. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also necessary.
