About the position

The Medical Assistant position at Dr. PM Sleep and Wellness Medical Center is a full-time role focused on providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic clinic environment. As the first Medical Assistant in this newly established center, you will play a vital role in supporting operations across multiple locations, ensuring personalized attention for patients and contributing to the growth of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage both virtual and in-person patient appointments.
• Schedule appointments and guide new patients through the process.
• Prepare patient charts, including organizing documents for sleep studies and lab results.
• Acquire CPAP data downloads and collaborate with local Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers.
• Conduct patient vital sign assessments.
• Assist in creating History of Present Illness (HPI) notes.
• Administer intramuscular B12 and sample injections as needed.
• Handle authorizations for patient referrals and prior authorizations for medications.
• Train patients in the use of PAP masks and assist with fittings.
• Perform autoclaving tasks approximately twice a week.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant Certificate is required.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a comparable healthcare role is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in the use of EMR systems and knowledgeable in medical terminology.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sleep medicine, neurology, pulmonary, or ENT is highly desirable.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
