About the position

The Mac System Engineering Program Manager role at Apple involves leading cross-functional teams to drive new product development from concept to launch. The position requires a strong understanding of hardware and software integration, as well as the ability to manage complex programs and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system hardware, features, and schedule baseline.
  • Manage program baseline and active investigations, system schedule, critical paths, and technical risks.
  • Identify and highlight engineering risk areas and partner with engineering subject matter experts to develop mitigation paths forward.
  • Clearly communicate project status, top issues, and escalations to the project core team along with senior leadership.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering required.
  • 1-4+ years of project management experience.
  • Proven experience in Program Management or Hardware Engineering and leading multiple teams in new product development.
  • Directly led at least 2 product development cycles for a System with hardware and software integration involved.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Leadership skills and ability to inspire team members.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities.
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.
