The Machine Learning & Analytics Software Engineer role focuses on analyzing high-dimensional data to derive insights that enhance Apple's product performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and software engineering skills, enabling them to influence product development decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze high-dimensional data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Develop models, metrics, tools, dashboards, and reports for data analysis.
  • Create infrastructure for streamlined analysis and communication of insights from large datasets.
  • Write production-level code to support data analysis and insights generation.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to provide insights that influence product decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis and practical machine learning.
  • Experience in transforming raw data into actionable insights through ETL processes using Python and Spark.
  • Ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
  • Strong software engineering background.

Nice-to-haves

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Applied Mathematics.
  • Proficiency in distributed compute and storage technologies like HDFS, S3, Iceberg, Spark, and Trino.
  • Experience with designing ETL flows and automation/scheduling tools like Kubernetes and Airflow.
  • Working knowledge of Operating Systems, including memory management and file systems.
  • Experience driving cross-functional projects.
