About the position

The position involves a proactive software engineer role focused on quantitative analysis of high dimensional data to derive insights that can impact Apple's product experience. The engineer will develop software for analyzing system power and performance, creating models, metrics, tools, dashboards, and reports to facilitate streamlined analysis and communication of insights from large datasets. This role requires a strong foundation in statistical analysis and software engineering to influence decisions across various teams at Apple.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong foundation in statistical analysis and software engineering.
• Experience with data engineering and analytics, including ETL processes using Python and Spark.
• Ability to understand business context and solve complex problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• M.S. or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Statistics.
• Proficiency in distributed compute and storage technologies like HDFS, S3, Iceberg, Spark, and Trino.
• Experience with designing ETL flows and automation/scheduling tools like Kubernetes and Airflow.
• Working knowledge of Operating Systems, including memory management and file systems.
• Experience driving cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders.
