About the position

The Applied Data Science Program (ADSP) at Apple is a rotational program designed for entry-level talent to gain practical work experience through project-based rotations across various teams. Participants will build sophisticated data products and critical data pipelines that enhance business intelligence and data analysis, ultimately leading to impactful operational solutions within the company.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business problems into technical solutions by collaborating with business partners.
• Create tools to support self-service analytics, geospatial analytics, and automated disaster recovery.
• Develop, deploy, and operationally support machine-learning models to address threats to Apple's ecosystem.
• Apply data science to core finance processes for automation and capability elevation.

Requirements

• Proficient in at least one programming language (Python/Scala/Java preferred).
• Practical experience with querying languages such as SQL and extracting insights from complex data sets.
• Theoretical understanding of data modeling concepts, data structures, and machine learning algorithms.
• Experience implementing machine learning solutions to answer real-world questions is a plus.
• Experience with big data processing technology (MapReduce/Spark/S3/Data Lake) is a plus.
• Effective communication skills to translate complex concepts into business-focused solutions.
• Self-starter with meticulous attention to detail.

• Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related Engineering field.
