About the position

The position involves working as a machine learning specialist at Apple, focusing on developing AI-driven system experiences across the Apple ecosystem. The role requires collaboration with a dynamic team to create novel machine learning techniques and applications, build ergonomic tools and infrastructure, and rapidly iterate on prototypes to deliver new product experiences. The successful candidate will engage in full-stack machine learning development, including data generation, model training, and on-device inference, while working closely with hardware, software, and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Design high-performance machine learning models and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with designers, software/hardware engineers, and applied R&D teams.
• Engage in full-stack ML development, including data generation and curation.
• Create and influence ML tooling and infrastructure.
• Drive evaluation efforts and train models for local, on-device inference.
• Rapidly iterate on prototypes to bring models into reality.
• Represent technology and implement it into prototypes across teams.

Requirements

• Experience with various types of models in product, prototyping, or research.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, natural language understanding, distributed systems, reliability, and cloud services.
• MS in Computer Science or related experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to influence modeling architecture and go beyond implementing papers in product.
• Comfortable with pushing and framing novel research directions to product-oriented leadership.
• Experience rapidly prototyping applied AI.
