FORTNA is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our Research and Development group, specifically within the Computer Vision team. This role is pivotal in advancing our capabilities in robotics, particularly in the area of computer vision applied to our rapidly growing product line. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing robust multi-sensor fusion systems that enhance the functionality of our robots through advanced computer vision techniques. Your work will directly contribute to the optimization of order fulfillment and last mile delivery operations, which are critical to our clients' success in the omnichannel and parcel distribution landscape. In this position, you will develop new algorithms for pick and place robots, focusing on the integration of deep learning techniques with multi-camera and multi-sensor systems. You will be tasked with training and testing various Neural Network architectures, implementing novel solutions that push the boundaries of current technology. Additionally, you will create computer vision solutions that generate 3D synthetic data for simulation environments, which will be essential for self-supervised learning approaches. Your role will also involve deploying newly trained models on real-world robotic platforms, ensuring that our systems are equipped with state-of-the-art inference pipelines. Staying abreast of the latest developments in machine learning, computer vision, and robotics will be crucial, as you will be expected to integrate novel ideas and technologies into our existing systems. You will also be responsible for optimizing models for speed and accuracy, as well as maintaining and improving our machine learning infrastructure to ensure scalability and efficiency.
