About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer Graduate position within the Business Risk Integrated Control (BRIC) team at TikTok is designed for PhD graduates starting in 2025. This role focuses on developing machine learning solutions to mitigate business risks associated with TikTok products and platforms. The successful candidate will work on innovative projects aimed at enhancing platform security and user experience by addressing issues such as abusive accounts, fake engagements, and fraud. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with key security initiatives and contribute to the development of scalable, intelligent systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build machine learning solutions to respond to and mitigate business risks in TikTok products/platforms.
  • Improve modeling infrastructures, labels, features, and algorithms towards robustness, automation, and generalization.
  • Uplevel risk machine learning excellence on privacy/compliance, interpretability, risk perception, and analysis.

Requirements

  • PhD in computer science, statistics, or other relevant, machine-learning-heavy majors.
  • Solid engineering skills with proficiency in at least two of: Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Storm.
  • Strong machine learning background with proficiency or publications in modern machine learning theories and applications such as deep learning, transfer/multi-task learning, reinforcement learning, time series, or graph algorithms.
