About the position

As a Machine Learning Engineer Graduate at TikTok, you will be part of the Governance and Experience Algorithm team, which was established to leverage advanced AI technology to address risks and violations in e-commerce scenarios. Your role will involve identifying algorithms that can detect low-quality issues in various e-commerce contexts, including products, shopping cart short videos, and live streaming. You will also be responsible for mining algorithms to detect fraudulent behaviors and identify risky merchants and creators. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on optimizing algorithms for large-scale brand libraries and content deduplication, as well as engaging in data construction and fine-tuning for large models in the e-commerce domain. In this role, you will explore reinforcement learning and operational research algorithms to enhance audit quality and efficiency. You will optimize various algorithms, including those related to natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and multimodal content, to support governance business and improve the e-commerce shopping experience. Your work will also involve optimizing risk identification models related to text content and public opinion, contributing to the overall governance effect of the platform. Successful candidates will have the chance to kickstart their careers in a dynamic environment that encourages creativity and innovation. Responsibilities

  • Identify algorithms for risk/violation/low-quality issues in e-commerce scenarios such as products, shopping cart short videos, and live streaming with products.
  • Mine and identify algorithms to detect fraudulent behaviors and identify risky, violated, or low-quality merchants and creators.
  • Optimize algorithms for large-scale brand libraries, products, and content deduplication/clustering.
  • Conduct data construction, instruction fine-tuning, CoT, alignment, and other work for large models in the e-commerce domain.
  • Explore reinforcement learning and operational research algorithms in intelligent dispatching and intelligent audit scheduling to improve audit quality and efficiency.
  • Optimize various basic algorithms such as NLP, vision, multimodal, search, graph, LLM, etc. to support governance business and apply them to e-commerce scenarios.
  • Streamline the optimization and iteration process for computer vision models in e-commerce settings, including fine-grained classification of product images and logo detection.
  • Optimize video classification, multimodal content mining, and understanding of e-commerce short videos and live broadcasts.
  • Optimize the risk identification model related to text content in e-commerce scenarios, such as product copywriting and voice descriptions.
  • Optimize the risk mining algorithm for comments and reports related to products/short videos/live broadcasts.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a PhD degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Solid coding skills with proficiency in Python, Go, or C++ and ability to develop in a Linux environment.
  • Strong foundation in data structures/algorithms and proficiency in machine learning/deep learning theory with practical experience.
  • Familiarity with 1-2 areas in natural language processing, computer vision, multimodal, graph algorithms, search algorithms, text/data mining, and LLM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, passionate about challenging problems.
  • Good team spirit and strong communication skills.
  • Experience in platform governance/audit/risk control/content security or overseas internet/e-commerce business is preferred.
  • Fluent English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills are preferred.
  • Experience studying, working, or living overseas is preferred.
