About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer Graduate position at TikTok focuses on enhancing the security and integrity of the E-Commerce platform by developing machine learning solutions to mitigate various business risks. This role is part of the U.S. Data Security (USDS) division, which aims to protect user data and ensure a safe environment for TikTok users. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative challenges in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the company's mission of inspiring creativity and bringing joy.

Responsibilities

  • Build machine learning solutions to respond to and mitigate business risks in TikTok products/platforms.
  • Improve modeling infrastructures, labels, features and algorithms towards robustness, automation and generalization.
  • Up-level risk machine learning excellence on privacy/compliance, interoperability, risk perception and analysis.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or other relevant STEM majors.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languages.
  • Experience developing and implementing models and visualizations using programming and scripting languages (Scala, Python, R, Ruby, and/or Matlab).
  • Experience using various forecasting, machine learning and statistical tools and communicating results, plans and/or risks clearly.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in CS, Machine Learning, Statistics, Operations Research, or relevant field.
  • 4+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and analysis.
  • Experience collaborating with product, operations and engineering teams.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in e-commerce / online companies in fraud / risk control functions.
