About the position

Cognitiv Corp is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer Manager to lead a team in developing and implementing analytics applications that transform raw data into meaningful insights. The role involves applying data mining, modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, while also visualizing and reporting findings. The manager will oversee project objectives, guide junior engineers, and ensure best practices in software development are followed.

Responsibilities

• Manage priorities and tasks for a team of machine learning engineers
• Develop the skills of junior machine learning developers
• Lead and execute meticulously controlled experiments to evaluate feature performance
• Collaborate with diverse teams on deployment strategies and maintenance planning
• Act as a subject matter expert in machine learning engineering
• Guide technical project objectives and deadlines
• Offer guidance in scoping and estimating work items
• Implement and monitor technical strategy performance metrics
• Direct the work of machine learning engineers to ensure best practices
• Support and coach high performing machine learning engineers
• Search for improvements in process and software delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional peers to set team direction and develop product roadmap

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related STEM field
• At least two years of experience in machine learning or related positions
• Proficiency in machine/deep learning concepts such as Linear/Logistic regression, decision trees, or neural networks
• Experience with big data tools like Spark, Fink, Hive, and Presto
• Familiarity with Python data science tools like NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, or Jupyter
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or C#
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• SQL knowledge
