About the position

Peloton is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in natural language processing (NLP) to enhance its connected fitness capabilities. The role focuses on improving the existing NLP/NLU platform using advanced machine learning techniques and tools, contributing to projects involving voice transcription, search algorithms, and generative AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems in the NLP/NLU domain such as named entity recognition, user intent recognition, and query classification.
• Build, train, and deploy open source models like Whisper and LLaMA.
• Hypothesize, design, and conduct experiments in natural language processing, understanding, and generation.
• Develop tools to mine and label text datasets for training and testing purposes.
• Optimize search algorithms using OpenSearch and Elastic Search.

Requirements

• Masters in Machine Learning, AI, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in developing solutions using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques in NLP applications.
• Understanding of transformer models and generative AI, including few-shot learning and fine-tuning.
• Familiarity with neural network architectures such as CNN, LSTM, GRU, and transformer-based architectures.
• Deep understanding of word embeddings, BERT, GPT, text classifiers, transfer learning, text mining, and text labeling concepts.
• Experience with technologies like Tensorflow, PyTorch, spaCy, Sagemaker, MLFlow, Airflow, TensorBoard, Anaconda, Jupyter, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in building personal digital assistants or chatbots.
• Experience in building search platforms and personalizing search and discovery.
• Experience with automatic speech recognition (ASR).
