About The Position

The Machine Learning Engineer for Recommendations at TikTok's U.S. Data Security (USDS) division is responsible for developing and optimizing large-scale recommendation algorithms to enhance user engagement and satisfaction on the platform. This role involves applying advanced machine learning techniques to analyze user data and create predictive models that drive content recommendations, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for U.S. users.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related fields.
• Strong programming and problem-solving ability.
• Experience in applied machine learning with algorithms such as Collaborative Filtering, Matrix Factorization, and Deep Neural Networks.
• Familiarity with Deep Learning Tools such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language like C++ or Python.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in recommendation systems, online advertising, or natural language processing.
• Publications in major conferences or experience in data mining/machine learning competitions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in building large-scale recommendation algorithms and systems for various TikTok features.
• Build long and short term user interest models and analyze large datasets to extract relevant information.
• Design, develop, evaluate, and iterate on predictive models for candidate generation and ranking.
• Create supporting and debugging tools as needed.
