About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer - Sensor Simulation role at Applied Intuition focuses on integrating modern machine learning techniques into production-grade sensor simulation. The engineer will collaborate with the research team to model various sensors, including Lidars, Radars, and Cameras, and will be responsible for driving research and development efforts that enhance the sensor simulator's capabilities. This position emphasizes the application of machine learning to real-world challenges in autonomous systems, aiming for impactful production outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive research and development of incorporation of generative and other machine learning techniques into our sensor simulator.
  • Work closely with rendering and physics-based modeling teams to build novel approaches fusing the best of all techniques.
  • Focus on projects with a clear path to production value and customer impact.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building software components or (sub) systems that address real-world machine learning challenges.
  • A passion for turning domain expertise into tooling that boosts productivity for teams working on real-world applications of autonomous systems.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple relevant software frameworks or tools, such as middleware, benchmarking suites, datasets, and common AI libraries.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning foundations and the ability to apply various techniques to new problems.
  • Experience working with production-level ML and DL perception algorithms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Lidar, Radar, or Camera data using modern approaches to perception.
  • MSc or PhD in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence or a closely related field.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in relevant algorithms or methods, such as non-linear optimization, deep learning, generative modeling, and distributed systems.
  • Experience building and shipping software frameworks or tools.
