The SMB engineering team is dedicated to developing software that empowers small and medium businesses to succeed by building scalable platforms, seamless products, and comprehensive solutions. As the SMB revenue is projected to become a significant portion of the total ads business, the engineering team is committed to solving challenging yet interesting problems through advanced software architecture, engineering practices, and cutting-edge algorithms. Collaboration is key, as the team works closely with strategies, data scientists, product managers, operations, and sales teams, leveraging diversity in skills, culture, and background as a source of power. We are seeking machine learning engineers who are passionate about innovating and creating scalable and reliable software solutions. The role involves tackling various challenging problems, including creative recommendations, ads delivery, personalized coupons, and LLM-based customer support. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping TikTok Monetization's growth by developing personalized strategies that directly influence the company's P&L and monetization roadmap. This position offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams to design cutting-edge machine learning models aimed at enhancing SMB advertisers' performance, predicting key performance indicators, and leveraging data and technology to drive business outcomes. Additionally, the role includes building the TikTok Ads Manager (TTAM) Copilot by integrating LLMs into products and services to improve advertiser engagement, contributing to user satisfaction and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Shape TikTok Monetization's growth through the development of personalized strategies such as coupons, internal advertising, and intelligent suggestions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to design cutting-edge machine learning models aimed at enhancing SMB advertisers' performance.
  • Predict key performance indicators like click-through rates and conversion rates, leveraging data and technology to drive business outcomes.
  • Build TTAM (TikTok Ads Manager) Copilot by integrating LLMs into our products and services to improve advertiser engagement.
  • Develop Generative-AI based QAs, recommend auto-creation strategies, and develop conversational creation flows.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with machine learning, in either an academic or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including natural language processing, computer vision, and click-through rate prediction.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Go, or Java, and experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn).
  • Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Very strong teamwork skills (e.g. communication, collaboration, ownership, empathy, honesty).

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing industrial advertising systems and recommendation systems.
  • Experience with LLM and AIGC.
