About the position

As a Machine Learning Engineer in the Multimedia team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the experience of TikTok LIVE users through the design and application of machine learning algorithms and intelligent strategies. This position involves conducting both offline and online experiments, analyzing data-driven results, and evaluating algorithms and strategies to enhance user experience and cost efficiency. You will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to making TikTok's architecture more intelligent and efficient, addressing challenging engineering and algorithm problems that arise from the massive flow of content on the platform. In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from product, engineering, and data teams to achieve business goals. Staying updated with the latest research in machine learning, recommendation systems, and related fields is essential. Your contributions will directly impact the way users interact with TikTok, making it a more engaging and enjoyable platform for millions of creators and consumers worldwide. Responsibilities

• Design and apply machine learning algorithms and intelligent strategies to optimize the experience of TikTok LIVE users and cost efficiency.
• Conduct offline and online experiments, analyze data-driven results, and evaluate to improve algorithms and strategies.
• Stay updated with the latest research progress in machine learning, recommendation/search/ads systems, and related areas.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams to accomplish business goals.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in machine learning, data mining, recommendation/search/ads systems, or other related areas.
• Solid experience with data structures and algorithms, and hands-on coding experience in a general programming language.
• Familiarity with mainstream AI development frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Fast business understanding and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Published papers in high-level conferences (NIPS, AAAI, ICML, ICLR, etc.) or competition experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services.
• Familiarity with software development best practices and version control systems.
