About the position

As an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in enhancing national safety and security through the design, development, and implementation of machine learning algorithms and models. This position involves addressing various challenges in predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision, while ensuring data quality and relevance for model training. You will also be responsible for deploying machine learning models into production environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning algorithms and models.
  • Address challenges in predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and relevance for model training and evaluation.
  • Train, validate, and optimize machine learning models using state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Evaluate model performance and iterate on model design as needed.
  • Design feature engineering solutions to improve model performance.
  • Deploy machine learning models into production environments and integrate them with existing systems.
  • Monitor model performance and implement automated monitoring systems.
  • Document technical designs and best practices for AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and prioritize projects.
  • Coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 8+ years of related experience in machine learning and software development.
  • Active SECRET or Top Secret SCI clearance.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks.
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and agile methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Large Language Models and generative AI.
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning Operations (MLOps).
  • Experience in coaching or leading teams.
