About the position

Join the Emerging Technology Group as a Machine Learning Engineer and play a pivotal role in our AI and data insight journey. In this position, you will be responsible for driving AI implementations and related technologies and solutions to address both current and future business opportunities. This role requires a strong background in prompt engineering, designing, developing, and deploying machine learning systems, as well as implementing machine learning algorithms. You will conduct experiments and stay updated with the latest developments in the field to ensure that our solutions remain cutting-edge and effective. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will solve complex problems using multilayered data sets and optimize existing machine learning libraries and frameworks. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and data architects to develop production systems and applications. You will also be tasked with identifying differences in data distribution that could potentially affect model performance in real-world applications, ensuring that algorithms generate accurate responses. Your responsibilities will include assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and executing data wrangling techniques. Additionally, you will develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. While there are no initial supervisory responsibilities, this role offers multiple leadership opportunities over time, and candidates must be able to mentor and teach others as they grow within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex problems with multilayered data sets and optimize existing machine learning libraries and frameworks.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and data architects on production systems and applications.
• Identify differences in data distribution that could potentially affect model performance in real-world applications.
• Ensure algorithms generate accurate responses.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and execute data wrangling techniques.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

Requirements

• Experience building and operationalizing retrieval augmented generation (RAG) frameworks.
• Experience utilizing LLMs for software automation capability integrations.
• Experience configuring vector databases for semantic search.
• Experience with LangChain and sentence transformer frameworks.
• Experience with ChatGPT-4 (or comparable models).
• Experience with MLOps.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML cloud services and infrastructure, including SaaS infrastructure technologies (AWS/Azure preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and insights extraction.
• Knowledge of various machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
• A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Comfortable working with loosely defined requirements, exercising creativity and analytical skills to deliver best-in-class solutions.
