About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer will play a crucial role in a Series D FinTech startup focused on making capital more affordable through innovative technology. This position involves solving complex problems, debugging client-server interactions, and leading system architecture and design efforts. The role will evolve to include significant technical leadership responsibilities, contributing to the development of machine learning systems and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Researching and engineering machine learning systems.
• Training large neural networks and machine learning systems at scale in HPC clusters.
• Architecting and implementing ML training, validation, and inference pipelines from idea to product.
• Researching and implementing state-of-the-art algorithms from literature.
• Writing production-grade software using good software engineering practices.
• Innovating and defining novel creative solutions to complex problems using first-principles thinking.

Requirements

• Strong machine learning background with exposure to transformer-based architectures.
• Proven track record in writing scalable, performant, and clean Python code for production.
• Experience developing effective ML pipelines from initial idea to deployable product.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with reinforcement learning, graphs/GNNs, and MuZero style patterns.
