About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer at Frontier Communications will play a crucial role in developing and optimizing AI models to enhance broadband connectivity services. This remote position involves collaboration with peers across the contiguous United States, focusing on data collection, processing, and analysis to improve model performance and reliability. The engineer will also contribute to a world-class AI team, staying current with the latest machine learning research and implementing innovative solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Train Machine Learning Models using communications data and customer interaction datasets.
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to collect, process, and analyze data, executing well-defined experiments and performing feature engineering.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot model issues to ensure accuracy and reliability, proposing and implementing solutions.
  • Contribute to building a leading AI team in the communications industry, working with cutting-edge AI technologies.
  • Stay current with machine learning research, engaging with internal teams to discuss findings and experiment with novel approaches.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience working with large complex datasets using Spark.
  • Strong background in Python (and R, C/C++).
  • Experience in Databricks platform.
  • Experience in LLMs (Large Language Models).
  • Deep understanding of modern machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Deep understanding of statistical methods.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in Computer Science (Data Science, Machine Learning, AI).
  • Exposure to industry or academic research (peer-reviewed publications).
  • Experience in cloud computing technologies (Google Cloud Platform, AWS).
  • Experience in deploying ML models (LLMs) to production environments.
  • Working knowledge of computer networking.
