About the position

Avid Technology Professionals is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in McLean, VA. This position requires a strong background in machine learning and artificial intelligence, particularly in tuning neural networks and developing models that can be applied to specific use cases. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the AI/ML space, including the ability to select the best Python libraries for various tasks, perform data pre-processing, and assess model performance. The role will involve working with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras, and leveraging GPUs for accelerated computing. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and tuning machine learning models, particularly large language models (LLMs), on custom datasets. You will also be expected to utilize SQL for data manipulation and analysis, and to manage version control using systems like GitHub and Jenkins. The role is on-site and requires a collaborative approach to problem-solving, as you will be working closely with other team members to deliver high-quality solutions. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in various optional projects, such as developing applications for semantic search, utilizing the HuggingFace Transformers library, and creating visualizations using Tableau. Responsibilities

• Tune neural networks, including large language models (LLMs), on custom datasets.
• Develop models and ensembles in the AI/ML space, selecting appropriate Python libraries and pre-processing actions.
• Perform analysis and assess model performance using various metrics.
• Utilize deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras for model development.
• Leverage GPUs for accelerated computing in machine learning tasks.
• Use SQL for data manipulation, including common table expressions and nested subqueries.
• Manage version control using systems like GitHub and Jenkins.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience tuning neural networks on custom datasets.
• Experience developing models and ensembles in the AI/ML space.
• Proficiency in Python or R for machine learning tasks.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
• Proficiency with SQL, including set operations and aggregated functions.
• Experience with version control systems like GitHub and Jenkins.
• Experience leveraging GPUs for accelerated computing.
