About the position

The Machine Learning Engineering Manager at Stripe will lead the newly formed Stripe Assistant team, which focuses on building an assistant for merchants using Stripe. This role involves driving an ambitious vision for AI/ML, setting technical and process directions, and developing high-quality ML systems that enhance user experience. The manager will also be responsible for hiring and coaching a world-class team, ensuring collaboration across functions, and maintaining high standards in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Driving an ambitious vision for AI/ML that benefits our users

• Brainstorm and coordinate product integrations with partner teams

• Be an integral part of a larger ML community internally & externally

Requirements

• Have at least 5 years of experience managing ML teams
• Lead by example in high-growth, high-impact, ambiguous environments
• Have experience building & shipping ML systems
• Enjoy measuring & improving user experience
• Hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems
• Thrive in a collaborative cross-functional environment
