About The Position

Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc. is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This hybrid position requires the candidate to collaborate closely with Administrative and Analytics leadership to design and architect a robust platform for establishing pipelines using Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) principles. The ideal candidate will reside within commuting distance of the Froedtert ThedaCare Health Woodland Prime location. In this role, you will work alongside data scientists throughout the machine learning model development and deployment lifecycle. You will engage with analysts and developers to integrate Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (ML/AI) results into analytic products and business applications. Additionally, you will collaborate with IT teams to enable and maintain pipelines that connect business applications with ML/AI results, ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy and security standards, including HIPAA, while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive patient information. Your responsibilities will also include continuously monitoring and assessing the performance of deployed models and analytics strategies, making ongoing adjustments and enhancements as necessary. You will develop tools and libraries that support machine learning projects and experiments, provide coaching to data scientists on engineering solutions for complex ML use cases, and champion the utilization of best practices in the field. Furthermore, you will explore and assess new technologies, techniques, and tools in machine learning and AI that can enhance the capabilities of existing systems and products. Collaboration with care providers and operational teams will be essential, particularly during Gemba Walks, which involve onsite observation of workflows. You will develop, validate, and implement advanced algorithms and models for predictive analytics, utilizing machine learning and statistical techniques to uncover insights, trends, and patterns crucial for patient care and health outcomes. Your role will also involve extracting, cleaning, and analyzing data from various sources, including electronic health records, patient surveys, and operational statistics, as well as creating data visualization and reporting tools to support decision-making processes. Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in healthcare analytics will be vital, as will communicating complex machine learning concepts to non-technical stakeholders to help them understand the implications and benefits for business strategy. You will also be responsible for communicating project status and resolving or escalating issues as needed.
