About the position

The Machine Learning Engineer role at Apple focuses on leading the Online Retail Decision Automation team to develop and implement advanced machine learning algorithms that enhance the Apple Online Store experience. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to create scalable, production-ready machine learning solutions that drive product search, recommendation systems, and personalization efforts. The role emphasizes continuous learning and improvement of machine learning infrastructure and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other MLEs to build scalable, production-ready ML solutions, taking algorithms from initial concept through to deployment.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our ML infrastructure and tooling.
• Engage in continuous learning and development, staying up-to-date with the latest advances in machine learning and software engineering.

Requirements

• Strong machine learning background
• Proven software development skills
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, engineers, data scientists/analysts, and product managers
• Experience in developing and implementing machine learning algorithms
• Mentoring experience with other Machine Learning Engineers

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Generative AI
