About the position

FM Global is seeking a Machine Learning Operations Data Engineer II to join their AI/ML team. This role focuses on supporting Machine Learning Engineering by collaborating closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, Subject Matter Experts, and Solution Architecture teams. The position involves building a robust data platform and pipelines that enable advanced analytics, with the opportunity to develop AI/ML-based applications that significantly impact customers. The engineer will manage the ML application development life cycle, including data ingestion, experimentation, model training, deployment, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop platform tooling for Machine Learning Operations.
• Deploy data science models to production and monitor their performance.
• Support Machine Learning projects end-to-end.
• Ensure the velocity of model deployments and validation of deployed code.
• Manage versioning of data, models, and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions and platform tooling for Data Science.
• Expert in Spark SQL, PySpark, and proficient in Python and/or R programming languages, including libraries such as Pandas and scikit-learn.
• Three or more years of professional experience in MLOps, Data Engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• 3 to 7+ years of experience with Azure technologies, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Packer, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux/Windows VM administration.
• Solid understanding of modern security and networking principles and standards.
• Knowledge of best practices in software engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Foundational knowledge of Data Science is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative degree.
