The Machine Learning Operations Data Engineer II will join the AI/ML team to support Machine Learning Engineering, collaborating closely with Data Science, Data Engineering, Subject Matter Experts, and Solution Architecture teams. This role focuses on building a robust data platform and pipelines that enable advanced analytics, providing a unique opportunity to develop AI/ML-based applications that significantly impact customers. As part of the dynamic team, the Machine Learning Operations Data Engineer II will be responsible for developing platform tooling, deploying data science models to production, and monitoring production performance. The role encompasses supporting Machine Learning projects end-to-end and developing platform tooling for the Data Science team. Key responsibilities include ensuring the velocity of model deployments, validating deployed model code, and managing versioning of data, models, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of hands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions and platform tooling for Data Science, with expertise in Spark SQL, PySpark, and programming languages such as Python and R.

Responsibilities

  • Develop platform tooling for Machine Learning Operations.
  • Deploy data science models to production and monitor their performance.
  • Support Machine Learning projects from inception to deployment.
  • Ensure the velocity of model deployments and validate deployed model code.
  • Manage versioning of data, models, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Data Engineering, and Solution Architecture.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions and platform tooling for Data Science.
  • Expert in Spark SQL, PySpark, and programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Experience with libraries such as Pandas, scikit-learn, and R (tidyverse, glm, caret, etc.).
  • Three or more years of professional experience in MLOps, Data Engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure technologies (VMs, Web Apps, Managed Databases), GitHub Actions, Terraform, Packer, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux/Windows VM administration.
  • Solid understanding of modern security and networking principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of best practices in software engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Foundational knowledge of Data Science is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative degree.
