About the position

The Camera Algorithms team at Apple is seeking a passionate and self-driven machine learning research engineer specializing in computer vision and computational photography. This role focuses on innovating and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance imaging technology in Apple products. The engineer will research and develop novel machine learning techniques for image restoration and fusion, contributing to the advancement of Apple's camera imaging pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to algorithm design and implementation for camera imaging technology.
• Develop and train deep learning models for image restoration and fusion applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including camera hardware, firmware, GPU, and image quality teams.
• Leverage knowledge of classical computer vision and computational photography techniques to innovate new solutions.

Requirements

• Strong coding skills in Python; experience in C/C++ is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability in developing machine learning algorithms for computational photography and computer vision.
• Extensive knowledge of camera processing pipelines and classical computer vision techniques.
• Experience with deep learning techniques for image restoration and fusion applications, including denoising, demosaicing, and super-resolution.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• MS/PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
