About the position

The Machine Learning Scientist - LLMs role involves building and advancing machine learning and large language model platforms to support various government agencies. This position is part of the AI research team and requires collaboration across the business, focusing on technical direction and mentoring a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Build machine learning and LLM platforms for government agencies.
• Report directly to the Head of ML Research and contribute to technical direction.
• Own the development of new platforms and enhance existing systems.
• Implement and design code, deploying to production using advanced machine learning techniques.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as a thought leader.
• Mentor a fast-growing team.

Requirements

• Must be clearance eligible (US Citizen).
• Experience using Python for machine learning and large language model development.
• Commercial experience building novel AI platforms with large datasets preferred.
• Familiarity with advanced machine learning approaches, such as deep learning.
• Prior experience leading projects is a plus.
• History of partnering with non-technical stakeholders, ideally in government spaces.
• Experience with Spark and cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• PhD/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or other STEM field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with deep learning techniques.
• Experience leading projects in a technical environment.
• Familiarity with government agency operations.
