About the position

The Machine Learning Scientist - Natural Language Processing (NLP) position at JPMorgan Chase is a senior role within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO). This role focuses on leveraging advanced machine learning techniques to address complex tasks, particularly in natural language processing, speech analytics, and other areas. The position emphasizes collaboration across various teams to implement innovative solutions that align with the firm's commercial goals and enhance productivity and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Research and explore new machine learning methods through independent study and participation in industry conferences.
• Develop state-of-the-art machine learning models for real-world applications, including NLP, speech recognition, and recommendation systems.
• Collaborate with partner teams such as Business, Technology, and Compliance to deploy solutions into production.
• Drive firm-wide initiatives by developing frameworks to accelerate the application of machine learning models across the business.

Requirements

• PhD in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Optimization, or Data Science) with at least five years of industry or research experience, or an MS with at least eight years of experience.
• Solid background in NLP or speech recognition and analytics, with hands-on experience in machine learning and deep learning methods.
• Extensive experience with machine learning and deep learning toolkits such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
