About the position

The Machine Learning Systems Engineer at Reality Labs will work within a team focused on developing and optimizing machine learning accelerator hardware-software verticals in state-of-the-art System on Chips (SoCs). This role involves collaboration with researchers and engineers to enhance machine learning capabilities, perform power analysis, and develop software tools for optimization. The position is integral to advancing Meta's vision in Virtual and Augmented Reality through innovative silicon and software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with compiler, firmware, and system architects to enable new ML use cases.
• Collaborate with compiler and ML researchers to enhance machine learning acceleration capabilities.
• Assist with performance/power analysis of machine learning models.
• Develop software tooling/methodologies for software enablement/optimization on ML accelerators.
• Work with FPGA engineers and firmware teams to perform early prototyping.
• Collaborate with Post-Silicon Validation engineers to enable silicon/form factor workload demonstrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a ML Systems Engineer (or similar role).
• Experience in hardware-software co-design and performance modeling.
• Experience with machine learning models, algorithms, or accelerator architecture.
• Experience with at least 1 procedural programming language (C, C++, Python, etc.).
• Familiarity with mobile SoC hardware architecture and system-level performance optimization.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience building and shipping software that encompasses an end-to-end experience within a well-scoped domain.
• Experience in SoC bring-up and prototyping.
• Experience with machine learning, graphics, or computer vision accelerators.
• Experience with mobile/wearable form factor devices and development environments (Android).
• Master's degree in EE/CS or equivalent experience.
