About the position

As a Machinery Maintenance Technician at Baker Hughes, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment. This position involves performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations of various mechanical and electrical components in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on safety and minimizing production downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, and uninstalling mechanical and electrical components of manufacturing production equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on all production equipment in a safe and timely manner.
  • Completing accurate and detailed work order reports in a timely manner.
  • Complying with all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Learning, cross-training, and working on a variety of machines and systems.
  • Managing and tracking equipment, spare parts, and supplies inventory.
  • Participating in department cleanup tasks proactively.
  • Resolving problems using working knowledge and solutions to improve operations and develop recommendations involving new techniques, technologies, or concepts.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, or High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or Millwright maintenance or Technician in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to rotate to a 24/7 'on-call' schedule and a swing schedule.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic electrical drawings, schematics, and other diagrams.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems, 3 phase motors, solid state relays, power supplies, PLCs, and encoders.
  • Understanding and use of electronic measurement equipment such as a DMM, frequency generator, amp probe, and megohmmeter.
  • Understanding and use of hand tools such as allen and torque wrenches, nut drivers, power drills, reciprocating saws, and grease applicators.
  • Computer skills, office equipment, and mobile electronics understanding.
  • Good understanding of PLCs and ladder logic.
