About the position
The Applications Engineer position at Kennametal India Ltd. focuses on growing the company's market share in new and existing segments by identifying business opportunities and providing product and process solutions. The role involves acting as a regional resource for process optimization services and driving sales growth through training, seminars, and direct customer engagement. The engineer will also support sales engineers in technical projects and contribute to the development of field sales competencies.
Responsibilities
- Grow the Kennametal India Ltd. (KIL) share in the assigned segment through conversion and penetration, POS, Projects, etc.
- Grow KIL share in high potential low share key accounts.
- Document customer TPR savings in INR for five customers.
- Identify opportunities for new projects and generate sales growth in the segment.
- Conduct one in-plant seminar per month and one DSE level seminar per quarter.
- Deliver three process optimization services per quarter.
- Identify and drive new business opportunities in existing customers and achieve sales growth for the respective segment.
- Generate sales through new customers.
- Generate new product sales through Conversion, Penetration and Retention (CPR) actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent with specialization in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in cutting tool sales/application function or process engineering.
- Sound knowledge of machining fundamentals, process design, and process re-engineering.
- Willingness to travel and meet customers in various geographic locations.
- Strong communication skills with a good command of English (oral and verbal).
- 8+ years of experience in the engineering industry.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
