About the position

The Machine Operator 1 position at Henry Company (a Carlisle Company) involves assisting in the manufacturing process of quality products in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety and quality control standards, and the operation of mechanical equipment. The operator will be responsible for various tasks along the production line, ensuring efficient production and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to assist with manufacturing, batching, filling, packaging, and other production line tasks.
• Utilize and ensure safe use of operating equipment such as forklifts, pumps, mixers, and valves.
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping and organization on the production floor.
• Read, write, and perform basic mathematical equations to follow instructions on Work Orders.
• Gather and maintain high stocking levels of required components for efficient packaging.
• Record required data on batch tickets and complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and equipment logs.
• Understand KPIs and meet production targets for assigned tasks.
• Complete quality testing and record testing data as required.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment as needed.
• Attend all required training programs sponsored by the company.
• Perform tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Self-starter with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Previous experience in a production environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and good attendance record.
• Experience safely operating a forklift.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
