About the position

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This role involves working with Loram's on-track maintenance of way (MOW) equipment and vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency during operations. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to perform technical inspections and repairs on machinery. The MO1 will also engage in training and development opportunities, with incentives for performance milestones.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment.
• Conduct machine inspections to identify problems, defects, and hazards.
• Perform common repairs as instructed and communicate conditions to supervisors.
• Accurately record and report parts used and maintenance activities.
• Lead job briefings during operations and maintenance shifts.
• Follow safe work processes and procedures consistently.
• Document daily field reporting and administrative tasks as necessary.

Requirements

• 3+ months experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment.
• 2+ years of demonstrated technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Excavator operations.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
