About The Position

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This role involves working with Loram's on-track MOW equipment and vehicles, requiring supervision during operations and travel modes. The position emphasizes safety and technical knowledge, with a focus on conducting inspections, performing repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. The role also includes administrative tasks such as reporting and documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ months experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment.
• 2+ years of demonstrated technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Excavator operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment.
• Conduct machine inspections to identify problems, defects, and hazards.
• Perform common repairs as instructed and communicate conditions to supervisors.
• Accurately record and report parts used and maintenance activities.
• Lead job briefings during operations and maintenance shifts.
• Follow safe work processes and procedures consistently.
• Document daily field reporting and personal expenses.
