About The Position

The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment. This role involves working with Loram's on-track maintenance of way (MOW) equipment and vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency during operations. The position requires a focus on safety, technical knowledge of machinery, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Requirements

• 3+ months of experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment.
• 2+ years of demonstrated technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and learn best practices.
• Maintain Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a valid Driver's License.
• 1 year of computer or technology background, with working knowledge of MS Windows.

Nice To Haves

• Excavator experience.
• Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain a Class B license.
• Preferred radiation experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain railway maintenance and inspection equipment.
• Conduct machine inspections to identify problems, defects, and hazards.
• Perform common repairs as instructed and communicate conditions to the operator or supervisor.
• Accurately record and report common parts used to the supervisor.
• Follow safe work processes, procedures, and rules during operations and maintenance tasks.
• Document and complete daily field reporting and other administrative tasks.
