About the position
The Machine Operator role at TreeHouse Foods in Hanover, PA, is a full-time position on the 3rd shift, which operates from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays. This position reports directly to the Packing Room Supervisor and takes day-to-day direction from the Lead Machine Operator. The primary responsibility of the Machine Operator is to ensure that production standards are met by operating all packing room machines at specified efficiency levels. These machines include Hayssens, box machines, box tapers, stretch wrappers, diverter gates, case labelers, and sonic sensors. In this role, you will determine upcoming production needs by studying the production sheet to anticipate changeovers and assigned products to machines. This involves preparing the correct film, co-dates, stickers, hot stamps, and other materials needed for the next order. You will also maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, and inspecting products for pleats, leakers, holes, registration, and code-dates to ensure compliance with specified bag waste limits. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing weight checks on packing lines to ensure product specifications are met. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Responsibilities
- Operate all packing room machines at specified efficiency (speed) to meet production standards.
- Determine upcoming production needs by studying the production sheet to anticipate changeovers and assigned products to machines.
- Prepare correct film, co-dates, stickers, hot stamps, etc. for the next order based on production needs.
- Maintain specifications by observing operations, detecting malfunctions, and inspecting products for pleats, leakers, holes, registration, and code-dates.
- Complete weight checks on packing lines to ensure product specifications are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends.
