About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator to join our team for the 3rd shift, which runs from Sunday to Thursday, 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. This position is crucial to our production process, as it involves a variety of tasks that support the manufacturing needs of our company, a leader in the abrasives, brushes, and power tools industry with over 200 years of history. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the correct components are used and that the quality of assembly meets our high standards by following established procedures. You will utilize samples, charts, and other information to ensure that products are manufactured to specifications, and you will monitor inventory levels of components to ensure that materials are available at work centers for continuous workflow. In addition to maintaining a clean and safe workplace in line with company standards, you will be expected to maintain a work output level that meets approved standards. Keeping all equipment, tools, and spare parts organized and well-maintained is essential. Proficiency in using adjustable measuring devices, rulers, scales, gauges, and fixtures is required, as you will follow company in-process inspection and documentation protocols to ensure the quality of production parts. The role may also involve performing multiple operations within a group of machines and completing other duties or special projects as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Ensuring correct components are used and quality of assembly by following procedure.

Requirements

  • High School/GED or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1+ years of solid experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, and multi-task under deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a group environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and possess a positive attitude.
  • Ability to perform as a team player.
  • Proficient with the use of adjustable measuring devices, rulers, scales, gauges, and fixtures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Power truck experience is a plus.
