Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Machine Operator Apprentice for the 2nd shift (Coils) in Waukesha, WI. This apprenticeship program offers hands-on training in operating winding machines to produce coils of various sizes according to specifications. The role includes both classroom and on-the-job training, with opportunities for career progression and skill development.

  • Set up and operate winding machines to produce coils according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret winding specification documents.
  • Install and adjust devices on the coil winding machine to meet sizing specifications.
  • Load materials onto dereeling mechanisms on the machine.
  • Measure materials and make adjustments to the machine as needed.
  • Place and adjust the coil form as specified.
  • Apply pack out as needed per specification on each section of the coil.
  • Fold, insulate, and tape-weld pre-cut leads to the coil body.
  • Operate a crimping tool to crimp wire to static shielding.
  • Complete two-week welding and brazing training at WCTC.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience or military technical training (preferred).
  • Minimum of six months prior coil winding experience (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret prints and quality specifications.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Experience in coil winding operations.
  • Military technical training related to manufacturing.
