Machine Operator Assistant - Plastics

The Machine Operator Assistant position at a plastic packaging company in Auburn involves supporting the operation of machinery used in plastics extrusion and injection molding. The role requires performing machine setups, quality inspections, and ensuring the proper handling of materials. This is an entry-level position suitable for individuals with a high school diploma or GED and some experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups, adjustments, and operations.
• Conduct quality inspections and complete quality documentation of products as prescribed.
• Move material, components, and pallets to designated areas.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and label leftover material.
• Ensure raw materials have been approved for use.
• Monitor and control the process while the operator is absent.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating plastics molding machinery.
• Prior operation of similar equipment preferred.
• Basic mechanical skills required.
• High school level mathematics proficiency.
• Ability to pass a ruler test without assistance.
• Must pass a background and drug screen.
• Must not have more than a one month gap in employment in the last year.
• Must not have had more than three jobs in the last five years.
• Must have worked 12-hour shifts before.
• Prior warehouse, manufacturing, or physically demanding position experience required.
• Must be reliable, punctual, organized, eager to grow with a company, self-motivated, and responsible.
