We design and manufacture industrial and laboratory ovens and furnaces, and environmental temperature cycling and stability test chambers. Our product brands include Blue M, Gruenberg, Tenney and Lunaire. TPS provides equipment to a broad range of customers in different industries, such as, defense, aerospace, electronics, biotech, medical, pharmaceutical, lab animal science, energy, transportation, communications, commercial heat treating, die casting, agriculture, and materials processing.

Responsibilities

  • Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures and determines sequence of operations.
  • Ability to operate a variety of machines such as, cutoff and band saws, shears, rolls, press brakes, CNC punch and laser to cut, shape, and bend metal.
  • Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder from CNC programming.
  • Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, or fixtures.
  • Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
  • Operates CNC grinder to sharpen tools.
  • Sets up and operates machines and equipment.
  • Accurate inventory control thru data input of material usage into the AS400 inventory control system.
  • Knowledge of operation and basic preventative maintenance of equipment.

Requirements

  • Two year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; able to accurately measure with a tape measure and square to 1/32" and convert decimals to fractions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Some knowledge of CNC programming and basic inventory control system desired.
  • Basic knowledge of computers to log in, and navigate to access job folders to view sales quotes if necessary to retrieve paint specifications is desired.
  • Ability to distinguish stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum and read blue prints and schematics.
  • Lift truck experience preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Must be willing work overtime on an as-needed basis to maintain production deadlines.
