About the position

The Royal Group is seeking a Machine Operator for the Weekend/3rd Shift in Seymour, IN. The role involves operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of corrugated products, ensuring quality and efficiency while adhering to safety standards. The position offers a unique schedule where employees work 36 hours but are paid for 40, along with a shift premium.

Responsibilities

• Setup machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Minimize waste of sheet stock.
• Monitor quality, including loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
• Cross train on other machines and switch duties as needed.
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Operate the machine to run efficiently and produce quality products.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Attend all plant safety meetings and practice safe work habits at all times.
• Adhere to production schedule and make recommendations for optimizing it.
• Train and assist Helper/Assistant with job duties at the machine.
• Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure necessary repairs are made.
• Complete all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Troubleshoot issues on the machine to minimize downtime.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

Requirements

• Preferred prior work experience in the corrugated industry or 2-4 years' work experience in a related field.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to apply basic calculations and read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Basic computer competence and working knowledge of machinery.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.

Nice-to-haves
