About the position
The Machine Operator II at Panasonic Energy of North America is responsible for operating lithium-ion battery cell production machines in various departments, including clean-room environments. This role involves ensuring safe and high-quality production, maintaining communication with team members and maintenance technicians, and adhering to safety and environmental regulations. The operator will also perform machine upkeep, material movement, and maintain production logs.
Responsibilities
- Operate one or several lithium-ion battery cell production machines, including inspection and conveyance machines.
- Perform related machine and work area upkeep (5S) and material movement.
- Conduct basic analysis and sustain production logs.
- Maintain active communication with co-workers and Maintenance Technicians for quality and production-related issues.
- Elevate issues to management or appropriate personnel when necessary.
- Monitor processes and perform continuous image inspections and visual quality checks of the products to ensure acceptance standards are met.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians in preventative maintenance procedures such as equipment clean-up.
- Prepare documentation as required and maintain a clean and safe work area following '6s' principles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years previous experience in a manufacturing environment, automation, or assembly is required.
- Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Basic knowledge with MES, X-500 procedures, Communications PC, Mass extractor, Speed lines, and Statistics PC.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, automation, or assembly is preferred.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
