About the position

The Machine Operator position at 8th Avenue Food & Provisions involves operating packaging machinery for pasta production during the night shift. The role is crucial for ensuring product quality and safety while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). The operator will work collaboratively with team members to maintain an efficient and positive work environment, troubleshoot equipment issues, and ensure compliance with production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging machinery in a safe and productive manner.
• Inspect product and packaging material for acceptable quality standards.
• Report and record all deviations from acceptable standards to the Coordinator.
• Perform assigned duties in compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Plant safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with all teams within the plant in a friendly and professional manner.
• Make all packaging and equipment changes and repairs in a timely manner to comply with the production schedule.
• Troubleshoot and operate all equipment in the General Packaging area, including Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, Cartoners, and Case Packers.
• Communicate all pertinent equipment/product problems to the Coordinator/Manager.
• Initiate cleaning of areas throughout the plant and complete cleaning checklist.
• Attend regularly and punctually, performing all other duties as assigned.
