About the position

The Cut to Length Machine Operator position involves operating and maintaining a metal processing line that generates individual sheets of material from a coil. The operator is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity while working in a team environment. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage equipment and processes effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety/maintenance equipment and shift inspections.
• Monitor and maintain the CTL schedule.
• Setup and operate equipment for maximum safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Cut and level aluminum coil as required.
• Monitor and manage processed material for defects and remove defects from customer products as necessary.
• Use measuring tools to inspect work products and compare them to blueprints.
• Maintain housekeeping of the CTL line and surrounding areas.
• Participate in training of other team members.
• Availability to work overtime as required.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a manufacturing facility as an operator.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• Coil processing experience preferred.
• Tow Motor certification a plus, but not required.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to read/interpret tape measure and other measuring instruments.
• Able to read and interpret manufacturing prints.
• Good working math and geometry skills.
• Basic computer skills, preferably applicable to ERP or MRP systems.
• Able to utilize small hand and power tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Coil processing experience preferred.
• Tow Motor certification a plus.
