About the position
The Machine Operator role at Aerotek involves overseeing the extrusion process of plastic coating on bare copper wire. The operator is responsible for setting up machines, monitoring raw materials, resolving issues, and conducting quality checks. This position emphasizes multitasking, adherence to standard operating procedures, and maintaining accurate production documentation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the extrusion machine to coat bare copper wire with plastic.
- Set up and adjust the machine using basic hand tools.
- Monitor the flow and supply of raw materials.
- Identify and resolve issues to ensure efficient product flow.
- Perform quality checks using tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Follow a Master Sheet and Process Sheet to maintain production schedules.
- Document production results on a computer.
- Manage time effectively by moving between stations to load/unload spools and pull finished products.
